Broster Buchanan are delighted to be the exclusive recruitment partner to a hugely successful international business, as they go through an exciting period of growth. The role is perfect for a dynamic, ambitious individual, looking to make their mark and who will be given the freedom to be proactive and implement change.

The position exists to manage a small team who prepare the UK entity statutory accounts, and consolidate overseas entities, alongside taking the lead on the annual audit, amongst wider financial accounting duties.

We are looking for someone who is ACA/ACCA qualified (likely first time mover of those already in industry), with a good understanding of Statutory Accounting and confidence to lead the year end audit in partnership with a Big4 firm. You will be the key contact point for the local Business Unit finance teams to discuss and agree accounting treatment for all material transactions (e.g. acquisitions and disposals) and reporting of inter company transactions.

Key duties include:

  • Statutory Accounts production for numerous UK entities and joint venture companies
  • Liaison with external auditors for the group audit and local UK statutory audits
  • Monthly and annual reporting using Group consolidation system
  • Monthly payroll accounting
  • Accounting for various balance sheet areas including investments, intangibles, fixed assets, loans, share capital, reserves
  • Managing accounting aspects of UK properties, liaising with external property advisors
  • Analysis of balance sheet movements for cashflow reporting
  • Liaison with the finance systems teams to ensure the accounting systems meet financial accounting needs
  • Integration, and systems projects as they arise

Suitable applicants:

  • You will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Have previous management/leadership experience
  • Working knowledge of producing statutory accounts for UK companies and IFRS
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Ability to manage a busy workload in a time-pressured environment
