The Role

We are excited to be working alongside a top 20 practice in the hunt for a Financial Accountant to join their Milton Keynes office on a full-time permanent basis.

This is a newly created role that will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for an array of month-end tasks as well as project work within the finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Manage month-end close process, including monitoring and following up on outstanding timesheets.
• Prepare and distribute monthly compliance and breach reports to relevant stakeholders.
• Raise and process credit notes as needed.
• Provide backup support for utilisation and performance reporting.
• Complete month-end reporting, including journal postings and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
• Review and approve BACS payment runs.
• Liaise with the company’s banking providers, including completing documentation for account setups and authorised signatories.
• Maintain online banking platforms and related banking records.
• Prepare intercompany invoices and complete reconciliations each month.
• Collate work-in-progress and debtor provision data from team leads.
• Compile management accounts and ensure source documentation is accurate and complete.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure proper authorisation of asset movements.
• Prepare and submit statutory filings where required.
• Support the preparation of company budgets and assist with group consolidation activities.
• Prepare year-end schedules and act as a point of contact for external auditors.
• Participate in ad hoc finance projects as required.

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified ACA/ACCA or by experience. We will consider Part-Qualified candidates
• Ability to prioritise your workload within a fast-paced environment
• Proven background in a similar role – ideally within a practice environment but open to Industry candidates
