Interim Financial Controller (Fixed Term Contract) – Cumbria

We are seeking a highly capable Interim Financial Controller to provide stability, leadership, and hands‑on financial expertise during a period of transition. The ideal candidate will be confident operating in a fast-paced environment, able to oversee the finance function, deliver accurate reporting, and support the leadership team with strategic financial insight.

This role would suit a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong experience in commercial finance, month‑end processes, and financial control.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the finance function on a day-to-day basis
• Oversee month-end accounting processes
• Prepare and review management accounts, cashflow, balance sheet, and P&L
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Lead budgeting and forecasting activity
• Provide financial insight and support to senior leadership & operational teams
• Improve reporting processes, systems, and financial governance
• Support audit preparation and liaise with external advisors where required
