Automation & Integration Manager

Location: Cambridgeshire (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to £85,000 + Excellent Benefits

This isn't just another Integration Manager role... At my FMCG client, we're looking for someone who enjoys getting out from behind the screen and into the business. Someone who loves sitting with Finance one morning, walking the production floor in the afternoon, then designing practical automation solutions that genuinely make people's working lives easier. Yes, you'll lead their integration capability. Yes, you'll work with enterprise platforms like Boomi, Microsoft Fabric and their core business systems. But what really matters is your ability to identify business problems, simplify complexity and deliver automation that has measurable impact. This is a newly created leadership position where you'll shape how automation and integration are delivered across one of the UK's leading FMCG businesses.

What makes this role different? They are not looking for someone who simply waits for requirements. They are looking for someone who can discover opportunities. You'll work alongside Change Champions across Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain and Operations, helping teams understand what's possible before translating business challenges into scalable automation and integration solutions. You'll spend as much time talking with stakeholders as you will designing technical solutions.

What you'll be doing

  • Own the Automation & Integration roadmap.
  • Work directly with business stakeholders to identify automation opportunities.
  • Lead workshops and translate operational challenges into technical solutions.
  • Design enterprise integrations across their application landscape.
  • Build and support automation using Microsoft Power Platform and enterprise integration technologies.
  • Define architecture, standards and governance.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of integration specialists.
  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical delivery.

The Technology

You’ll Work Across Technologies Including

  • Microsoft Power Platform
  • Boomi
  • Microsoft Fabric
  • APIs
  • ERP
  • WMS
  • SAP
  • Cloud Integration Platforms

Experience with Boomi is welcomed, but I am equally interested in candidates with experience of MuleSoft, Azure Logic Apps, Tibco, Informatica or similar enterprise integration platforms.

They are looking for someone who...

  • Naturally builds relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Enjoys understanding how a business operates before proposing technology.
  • Has delivered automation that removed manual effort and improved efficiency.
  • Can confidently facilitate workshops with Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain and Operations teams.
  • Understands both enterprise integration and low-code automation.
  • Can balance architecture with hands-on delivery.
  • Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where pragmatic solutions are often better than perfect ones.

Manufacturing, FMCG, logistics or supply chain experience would be advantageous but isn't essential. What matters most is your ability to combine technical credibility with commercial awareness and genuine business engagement. If you're passionate about solving business problems through technology rather than simply delivering integrations, we'd love to hear from you.
