Broster Buchanan are partnered with a global business within the food industry with a turnover of £8Bn+ who are looking for a Fabric Data Engineer to join as they set up an exciting new project team within the group. This would suit an experienced Azure Data Engineer with good Fabric experience looking to join a new, growing team with plenty of exciting projects and cutting tech on the horizon. This will be a mostly remote role but would suit someone near Liverpool, Birmingham or London as there will be ad hoc travel into the office when required for onsite meetings, workshops etc. 1-2 times per month. A salary of £55k - £65k + 10% bonus is on offer.
Responsibilities:
- Help set up and deliver the future direction of strategy and approach to the management, storage and usage of data.
- Collaborate with their wider technology and business teams to ensure goals and visions are aligned and achieved.
- Help with setting up the data warehousing and lake processes, including collaborating with their architecture teams to figure out what that will look like.
- At times, guide and mentor the junior data engineers within the team, reviewing their ideas, providing feedback and identifying their knowledge gaps to support their development.
- Design, develop, and manage data pipelines using Fabric Data Factory.
- Leverage Fabric Data Integration for seamless data source integration.
- Implement and maintain robust data governance frameworks with Fabric Data Management.
- Create and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations in Power BI and Tableau.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data processes, ensuring performance and reliability.
- Document data workflows, processes, and system architecture.
Requirements:
- Good experience with Azure technologies for Data Engineering, with 12 months or more using Fabric tools as part of real world projects, ideally through the end to end project lifecycle.
- Strong experience with setting up and using big data storage solutions, including data warehouses, data lakes or data lake houses.
- Able to build and demonstrate a solid understanding of the concepts of real time data streaming, batch data processing and data transformation processes.
- Experience with core tools such as Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Kafka and Python.
- Any exposure to data migration/ETL would be highly beneficial, with SQL/T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS, as there is a large data migration project planned.
- Any previous experience with setting up data governance and processes would be highly beneficial.
- Good proficiency in Power BI and Tableau.
- Strong knowledge of data integration techniques and ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience with data modelling, data warehousing, and data governance best practices.
