Broster Buchanan are recruiting for a Site Accountant to be based in Peterborough, you will work very closely with the Site Director to manage operations and understand financial performance.
The Finance Site Accountant is responsible for managing and executing financial operations at the site. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, cost control, budget monitoring, and compliance with corporate accounting standards and local regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently while supporting operational teams with financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the site.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and reconcile key accounts.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Cost Accounting & Budgeting:
- Monitor and analyse site operational costs and variances.
- Assist in developing and managing the site’s annual budget and forecasts.
- Provide insights on cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities.
- Operational Support:
- Work closely with site operations to track project or production costs.
- Provide financial data and analysis to support decision-making.
- Participate in regular site meetings to align financial goals with operational performance.
- Compliance & Audit:
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, procurement policies, and corporate guidelines.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable & Payroll Oversight:
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable specific to the site.
- Coordinate with HR or payroll teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally in a site-based or operational environment.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and cost accounting principles.
