We are proud to have been retained by The Northumberland Estates to recruit a Corporate Financial Controller. This is a unique and outstanding opportunity in the region, a chance for real career and personal advancement in a stimulating environment with first class colleagues.   The Northumberland Estates is the umbrella title given to the business interests of the Duke of Northumberland.The Estates has a rich history, a strong value set rooted in communities and the environment, combined with the aim of delivering long term sustainable value in the modern world. The Corporate element of the Estates comprises house building activities and commercial property development in the UK, Switzerland, Germany and North America. The role of Corporate Financial Controller would be mainly based in the Newcastle office with occasional travel to Alnwick Head Office. This is a full time 35 hours/week contract with core hours being 9.30am to 3.30pm and option to WFH one day per week. Reporting to the CFO and supervising a newly qualified accountant, key responsibilities of the role will include the following:  Maintaining a strong controls environment in relation to the Corporate entities.Preparation of quarterly and year end accounts for the Corporate entities, including consolidations, alongside other joint ventures and investments.   Supporting the CFO in producing robust financial information and monthly management reporting to directors and business partners.   Preparation and review of budgets for all Corporate entities.  Treasury and working capital management/forecasting, liaising with banks as necessary.    Management of tax affairs of the Corporate business with assistance from in-house tax controller in relation to VAT, CIS and Corporation Tax.   Preparation of year end audit and tax packs.  Assist and support the team with business case preparation/investment appraisal.            Provide a point of liaison and report for the Swiss and German accountants whilst maintaining records for the businesses in those territories.   Potential candidates should be technically strong qualified accountant capable of handling multiple priorities, with strong inter personal skills and the ability to work with and influence a wide range of stakeholders. Experience of forex, international accounting and consolidations will be helpful.  It is envisaged that salary will be in the £60,000 to £70,000 range.
