The Role:
As Assistant Management Accountant, you’ll be involved across a broad range of management accounting activities, including:

- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances, issues and outstanding items.
- Posting journals to the general ledger and reporting systems, including intercompany and recurring journals.
- Calculating and maintaining accruals and prepayments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Preparing and issuing sales ledger invoices accurately and on time.
- Supporting the preparation of VAT returns and wider tax reporting requirements.
- Producing ad hoc management reports and financial analysis to support decision-making.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring finance systems are kept up to date.
- Reviewing and updating process documentation to ensure procedures remain accurate and effective.
- Building strong relationships with colleagues across Finance and the wider business.
About you We’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in developing their accounting career and who is comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience within an accounting, finance assistant, accounts assistant or trainee accounting role.
- Exposure to management accounts, journals, reconciliations and month-end processes.
- Good Excel skills, including the ability to work with formulas, analyse data and present information clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Good communication skills and confidence dealing with internal stakeholders.
- An understanding of financial controls and accounting processes.
- A proactive approach to improving processes and ways of working.
Qualifications You’ll ideally be studying towards ACCA, CIMA, ACA or another recognised professional accounting qualification, or be a recent graduate with a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related subject.
Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills are important, alongside good written and verbal communication skills and strong Microsoft Office knowledge, particularly Excel.
What's on offer?
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to join a supportive Finance team, gain broader management accounting exposure and continue progressing towards a professional qualification.
