URGENT INTERIM REQUIREMENT: POWER BI DEVELOPER / ANALYTICS ENGINEER
Initial 3-month contract | Up to £680 per day for an Inside IR35 contract | Predominantly remote | Start ASAP.
I’m supporting a leading consultancy with an urgent requirement for a senior Power BI Developer / Analytics Engineer to join an insurance-sector data engagement. This isn’t purely a dashboard-development role. We need someone who can work across both sides of the analytics solution:
- Develop curated, business-ready data in the gold layer of a Databricks platform.
- Build effective Power BI data models, reports and dashboards.
- Create measures, KPIs and analytical logic using DAX, Power Query and SQL.
- Understand the business requirements behind the data—not simply visualise what already exists.
- Work confidently with senior client, business and technical stakeholders.
You must have:
- Strong hands-on Power BI development experience.
- Databricks analytics-engineering and gold-layer data-modelling capability.
- Excellent SQL and dimensional-modelling knowledge.
- Pensions and savings experience gained within insurance.
- The ability to start at short notice.
- The right to work from and remain based in the UK for the assignment.
The contract is predominantly remote, with travel to London or Edinburgh approximately 2–3 times per month. Travel to London is not expensed; Edinburgh travel and hotel accommodation will be covered where required.
The assignment is initially for three months and is aimed at a senior consultant or manager-level contractor who can get up to speed quickly and deliver with limited supervision.
Interested? Please send me your latest CV, availability, current location, day-rate expectations and a short summary of your Power BI, Databricks gold-layer, and pensions/savings experience.
