We bring together four specialist businesses with decades of combined experience across the construction and compliance landscape. We are excited to announce we are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our campaign in promoting our Building Control services and business propositions across Local Authorities, applicants, developers, architects, contractors, and consultants.

The role has a starting salary of £40,000 with a performance-based bonus scheme. As a valued member of our Broste Rivers Group you will receive:

Purpose of Role

Lead growth initiatives, strengthen client relationships, and expand the Group’s market presence within the identified sectors. Identify new business opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth while promoting our Building Control services to Local Authorities, applicants, developers, architects, contractors, and consultants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a business development strategy aligned with Group objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities with developers, architects, contractors, local authorities, and building owners.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity.
  • Contribute to pricing strategy and commercial planning.
  • Generate and convert new leads through networking, referrals, and targeted outreach.
  • Develop strategic partnerships and framework agreements to secure long-term contracts and repeat business.
  • Build strong relationships with applicants, developers, architects, contractors, surveyors, and project managers.
  • Ownership for the relationship management of identified key partners.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure consistent and high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking forums, and trade shows.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of high-quality proposals and tenders.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure accurate scope and pricing.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and secure contracts.
  • Work closely with Heads of Department and operational teams to ensure smooth project handover.
  • Maintain CRM records and provide regular pipeline and revenue reports.
  • Achieve agreed revenue and growth targets.
Person Specification
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or commercial management within the construction, building control, property, or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of Building Regulations, Building Safety Act, and statutory requirements including BSR submission frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and convert leads.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships at senior stakeholder level.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Experience within Building Control services, or construction consultancy.
  • Membership of relevant industry bodies.
