Responsibilities
- The assembly and welding of parts in accordance with the process, achieving building requirements (parts per hour/shift) and ensuring customer requirements are met on-time-in-full.
- Operate machinery, which may include welders, spin riveters, screwdrivers and other machinery as instructed.
- Pack assemblies/parts to the defined quantity and standards.
- Maintain 5S/housekeeping standards, holding yourself and team members accountable.
- Carry out quality and safety checks as required.
- Complete all required documentation to ensure accurate traceability of parts.
- Operate with a Right-First-Time (RFT) approach and contribute to solving problems when they arise.
- Work with safety in mind and be a team player with the ability to influence other team members to strive to achieve goals.
Qualifications
- You should have 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above including maths and English, and qualifications in Engineering or Performing Manufacturing Operations would be advantageous.
- Experience or demonstrable knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes.
- Excellent attendance is important to support the achievement of the plant’s goals.
Benefits
- Basic hourly rate of £12.46 plus £0.30 flex bonus and shift allowance; night shifts attract an extra 95p per hour.
- Basic contractual hours are 37.5 per week, which can extend to 45 hours per week (contractual) as required.
- Overtime rates apply for hours worked over 37.5 per week and can be required by extending the working day/shift or by working on weekends as the business requires, at a premium rate.
