An exciting opportunity has arisen at Broomgrove Trust Nursing Home for the position of full time Kitchen Assistant, who possesses a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service to our residents under the direction of their manager and cook. It is a unique chance to work in a friendly and professional environment within our charitable organization. There is always support from your colleagues; there are at least two kitchen assistants on each shift and the Cook/Head chef.
About You
- Kitchen assistant with at least 2 years experience!
- A professional, friendly attitude
- Quick learner, able to implement our staff values within the team
- Motivated and enthusiastic on mentoring and coaching all the staff
- Drive and focus to provide excellent customer service and quality of care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience and an up to date understanding of care service practices, legislation, regulations and standards
Responsibilities
- To assist with the preparation of breakfast trays and other mealtimes
- To assist in the serving of meals to residents when required
- To assist the Hostess with the drinks trolley, providing refreshments for the residents
- To wash up after mealtimes ensuring all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately
- Ensure that the daily cleaning of all food production equipment areas used by the catering department are cleaned to the standards, as per HACCP guidelines
- To assist with the storage of deliveries, including stock rotation
- Maintain confidentiality of information according to our Nursing Home's policy
Hours
Full time - 30 hours/5 days per week (morning or evening shifts, including weekends). There is flexibility offered! Shift: 8:00 - 14:00 or 14:00 - 20:00, or a double shift 8:00 - 20:00 (with more days off each week). Sometimes required to start at 7:30am to help with breakfast.
About Your Benefits
- Salary - The rate of pay per hour now is £12.21 (Mon-Fri) with a 20% enhancement at weekends (£14.65 - Sat-Sun).
- Bank holiday rate of pay will be £18.32 and Christmas day & New Year's day pay rate will be £24.42.
- 6 weeks holiday entitlement per year/30 days inclusive of bank holiday (after 5 years in service you receive additional holiday)

Requirements
