Broomgrove Trust Nursing Home in Sheffield has an exciting opportunity for the position of Care Assistant on days only, who possesses a genuine commitment to providing high quality care to our residents under the direction of the Registered Nurse. It is a unique chance to work in a friendly and professional environment within our charitable organization. There is always support from our Clinical nurse manager (Mon-Fri), and also 2 or 3 nurses are on duty all the time (7 to 8 carers are on the floor in our 40-bed unit throughout each day shift).
About you:
- Care assistant/Health care assistant with minimum 1 year experience in UK (we do not offer sponsorship)
- A professional, friendly attitude
- Quick learner, able to implement our staff values within the team
- Motivated and enthusiastic on mentoring and coaching all the staff
- Drive and focus to provide excellent customer service and quality of care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience and an up to date understanding of care service practices, legislation, regulations and standards
Responsibilities
- Working together with all disciplines involved with the total care of residents and their families, integrating care with their residents’ physical, psychological and spiritual needs.
- Be aware of residents’ and carers’ needs and report any changes to the supervising registered nurse.
- Assist with the maintenance of a safe clinical environment, report to the Nurse in Charge on any issues identified which may put health, safety and security at risk.
- Assist in the effective use of resources within the clinical area, e.g. equipment and supplies.
- Report incidents and be aware of all relevant policies and procedures, e.g. Accidents, violence, fire.
- Deliver a high standard of person-centred care in accordance with Broomgrove Trust Nursing Home policies and procedures.
- Enable residents and carers to maintain their individuality.
- Maintain confidentiality of information according to our Nursing Home's policy.
Hours - days
Full time - 35 hours/ 5 days per week or 28 hours/ 4 days per week (including weekends). There is flexibility offered to spread the hours through several days. Shift: 7:30 - 15:00 or 14:30 - 22:00, or you can work what we call a double shift 7:30 - 22:00 (and work less days per week). One full time vacancy available or two part time. You are more than welcome to apply if you are interested in Bank work (zero hours contract) as well!
About Your benefits:
- Salary - The rate of pay per hour will be £12.81 (Mon-Fri) with a 20% enhancement at weekends (£15.37 - Sat-Sun). Bank holiday rate of pay will be £19.22 and Christmas day & New Year's day pay rate will be £25.62.
