Activities Team Leader at Broomgrove Nursing Home
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Broomgrove Trust Nursing Home for the position of Activities Team Leader, who possesses a genuine commitment to providing high quality service to our residents, under the direction of the Registered Manager. This is a unique opportunity to take a leading role within our established Activities team in a friendly and professional environment within our charitable organisation. You will be supported by a dedicated team and will help shape and expand the variety and quality of activities we offer across the home.
About you
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an activities role within a UK care or elderly setting
- Teaching assistant or Care assistant experience will also be considered
- Previous team leadership or supervisory experience (desirable)
- Customer service experience is a bonus
- A professional, friendly and approachable attitude
- A quick learner, able to implement our staff values within the team
- Motivated and enthusiastic, with the ability to mentor and support team members
- Drive and focus to provide excellent customer service and quality of care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Up-to-date understanding of care service practices, legislation, regulations and standards
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the Activities team in delivering a varied programme of activities and entertainment
- Plan, co‐ordinate and oversee a rolling programme of recreational and therapeutic activities
- Ensure activities are delivered safely, inclusively and effectively, tailored to residents’ needs
- Use creative crafts and activities as therapeutic tools to promote emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing
- Stay informed of current developments in elderly care, including dementia and palliative care, and reflect these in activity planning
- Identify opportunities for improvement within the activities programme and implement solutions
- Support, mentor and guide Activities staff to maintain high standards
- Work collaboratively with care staff, residents and families
- Ensure effective communication of activity schedules to residents

Working Hours
Days – Full Time (30 hours/week). 5 shifts per week – 10:00 to 16:00 (including some weekends). Flexible scheduling available.
Pay & Benefits
- £13.61 per hour (Mon‒Fri)
- £16.33 per hour (weekends)
- £20.42 (bank holidays)
- £27.22 (Christmas Day & New Year’s Day)
- 30 days annual leave (pro rata), increasing with service
