Join us as a Senior Care Assistant at Broomgrove Nursing Home. This role supports residents with high‑quality care under the direction of a Registered Nurse in a friendly professional environment.
About You
- Minimum 2 years experience in health or adult care
- Completed Level 3 Adult Care or willing to complete within 2 years
- Professional, friendly attitude and quick learner
- Ability to coach and motivate staff
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer‑service skills
- Knowledge of care service practices, legislation and regulations
- Proactive and maintain high standard of care under RN direction
- Confidentiality and personal‑care tasks (nutrition, bathing, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Lead moving and handling training, supervise staff and ensure correct procedures
- Act as fire marshal and conduct fire‑safety checks
- Team leader during shifts, organise team based on resident needs
- Attend daily briefings and oversee documentation
- Ensure mealtime smooth operation and tray service
- Complete diary and stock checks
- Provide catheter and leg‑bag care
- Train new starters and support integration
- Maintain confidentiality and support complex situations with empathy
Working Hours
- Days – Full time 35 hrs / week (5 shifts), 7:30‑15:00 or 14:30‑22:00 or optional double shift 7:30‑22:00 once a week
- Nights – Part time 30 hrs / week, 21:30‑08:00 (10 hrs)
Benefits
- Hourly pay £13.31 Mon‑Fri; £15.97 Sat‑Sun
- Bank holiday rate £19.97; Christmas Day & New Year’s Daily rate £26.62
