This position is responsible for leading, managing and inspiring a team of teachers delivering a personalised, play‑based curriculum that supports learners with a range of special educational needs, including ASC, ADHD and moderate learning difficulties. The role requires ensuring consistently high standards of teaching and learning, developing inclusive practice, and contributing to the school’s overall culture of professional learning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage teaching staff to achieve excellent outcomes for young people.
  • Plan and deliver an engaging, inclusive curriculum grounded in EHCP outcomes.
  • Develop and implement behaviour management and assessment strategies that enhance learner engagement.
  • Quality‑assure provision, prepare reports and action plans to support continuous improvement.
  • Support and challenge staff through professional development and reflective practice.
  • Collaborate with partners to meet the needs of a diverse student population across multiple sites.
  • Champion a culture of high expectations and professional learning for staff and pupils.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff teams effectively.
  • Experience with curriculum planning for pupils with ASC, ADHD, communication and interaction needs, and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Strong knowledge of teaching diverse learners with a broad range of SEN to secure excellent outcomes.
  • Skills in quality assurance, reporting and strategic development of learning provision.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Experience in deploying resources, staffing and leading professional development initiatives.
