An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Network Engineer to join a forward-thinking digital services team. This permanent role offers a competitive salary of up to £54,800 per annum, with the chance to make a real impact on the build, maintenance, and evolution of network infrastructure supporting critical services.
Key Responsibilities
- Support, maintain, and enhance the network infrastructure, both physical and virtual, ensuring efficient and secure operational running.
- Act as a subject matter expert in networking, providing technical guidance and leadership across key infrastructure, security, and configuration tasks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry, national, and legislative standards, demonstrating consistency across network implementations.
- Drive continuous improvement in network architecture and infrastructure, identifying and evaluating emerging technologies to proactively influence the digital strategy.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and Managed Service Providers.
- Take responsibility for technical design documentation, service artefacts, and impact analysis to support seamless solution delivery.
Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience with Cisco, Avaya telephony, Azure, AWS, zScaler, SolarWinds, and Sentinel in a large, complex organisation.
- Expertise in network monitoring, SD-WAN, VLANs, Azure vWAN, and static/dynamic routing.
- Proven ability to support, build, and maintain both physical and virtual infrastructure in multi-faceted, dynamic environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate risks and find practical solutions.
- A solid understanding of service management practices, including ISO 20000 and ITSM, with experience authoring technical design documents.
