Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sales Estimator to join our commercial team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing accurate cost estimates for customer projects, providing competitive pricing, and supporting the sales team in achieving revenue targets. You will work closely with technical, production, and procurement teams to ensure that project specifications are met while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse project specifications, technical drawings, and customer requirements to generate accurate cost estimates for architectural metalwork products.
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs, clarify technical requirements, and propose appropriate solutions.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, and where necessary, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and external services required for bespoke projects.
- Prepare detailed quotations, pricing schedules, and tender presentations.
- Establish budgets for commercial, procurement, and project teams.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all cost estimates, including assumptions, data sources, and calculation methods.
- Maintain records of estimates versus actual costs for ongoing improvement in accuracy and efficiency.
- Work with production and engineering teams to refine manufacturing processes for improved cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an estimator or in a similar position within the architectural metalwork or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, construction methods, and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings or specifications to accurately scope customer requirements.
- Excellent numerical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; specific training will be provided for bespoke software.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
