We are seeking an experienced AWS API Technical Architect to design and deliver secure, scalable, and highly integrated API and microservices solutions across a complex enterprise environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in API architecture, cloud-native engineering, and distributed systems design. Candidates from both hands-on engineering and architecture-focused backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design serverless and microservices-based API architectures within AWS
  • Define and implement RESTful API standards, patterns, and best practices
  • Support system and data integration across distributed applications and services
  • Identify and remediate technical debt with pragmatic modernisation approaches
  • Collaborate with product and delivery teams to align technical solutions with business roadmaps
  • Support deployment planning, cutover activities, and post-go-live stabilisation
  • Work closely with cybersecurity and engineering teams to ensure secure, observable, and resilient solutions
  • Design secure integrations with identity providers and access management solutions

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience designing API and microservices architectures
  • Deep understanding of AWS cloud-native services and serverless design
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and distributed systems integration
  • Knowledge of security best practices for cloud and API solutions
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
