We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well organised Attendance Admin Assistant, to be part of our highly effective Pastoral Team, working directly alongside our current Attendance Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a culture of excellence, ambition, and inclusion.
With effect from 1st September 2025 BGLC became part of The Mead Educational Trust (TMET) having gone through a period of significant change from 2017. Our founding schools were Brookvale High School, an 11-14 high school, and Groby Community College, a 14-19 upper school. As a campus we meet the educational needs of over 1500 students with over 300 of those enrolled in our Post 16 provisions. We have a strong ethos of valuing everyone and achieving excellence for all. We set very high standards for our students and ourselves, we work hard, we look after each other, and we are committed to professional learning for all staff. As a consequence, the motto we use on a daily basis with our young people is to work hard, be kind which we feel symbolises the culture we aim to create on campus.
Job overview: As well as generating data for the purposes of monitoring attendance, you will also support the Attendance Officer in the wider remit of the role, including making and receiving telephone calls and accompanying on visits to schools and homes.
Hours of work: 25 hours per week term time plus 3 days additional hours; 8.30am to 1.30pm Monday to Friday.
Job requirements:
- Minimum of a grade C in GCSE Maths and English
- Ability to prioritise tasks on a day-to-day basis
- Experience of using information management systems and strong IT skills
- A high level of verbal and written communication standards
- Proven ability to show reliability and to work to meet key deadlines
