We are seeking to recruit an outstanding, enthusiastic, and dedicated Pastoral and Safeguarding Lead to join our team. As a Pastoral and Safeguarding Lead, you will support the wellbeing, safety, and personal development of pupils, ensuring they feel safe, included, and ready to learn.

The role involves responding to safeguarding concerns, providing daily pastoral support, and working closely with staff, families, and external agencies to promote positive outcomes. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day monitoring and resolution of concerns raised, using both face-to-face contact and our secure online reporting system CPOMS, to respond effectively to issues raised by staff, pupils, and parents/carers.

A key part of the role includes delivering targeted interventions to reduce barriers to learning, improve attendance, and help pupils build the skills and confidence they need to engage fully in school life. Through proactive guidance and timely interventions, this role plays a central part in creating a supportive environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

The role also involves planning and delivering practical support, advice, and guidance to vulnerable pupils and families to reduce the risk of escalation to social care, ensuring that families understand and uphold their responsibilities in supporting their child's education.

You should have a strong understanding of strategies to engage and motivate young people and families. You will be a natural problem solver, with experience of working closely with external agencies, often handling highly confidential information and complex situations. You will have excellent, up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation and guidance, as well as the responsibilities of schools and wider agencies.

You will contribute to strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings, take part in assessments, and support the evaluation of plans and interventions designed to improve outcomes for children. The ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education, and an unrelenting commitment to children's welfare and safety. They will be an excellent communicator: empathetic; consistent; trustworthy. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and manage their own workload and diary. They will have proficient IT skills and be able to maintain accurate records.
