We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Paramedic to join our multi-disciplinary team for 25-32 hours per week. The paramedic will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking and clinical assessment through to the diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care. They will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process, including assessment and diagnostic skills, leading to the delivery of safe care for all patients. They will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures. The paramedic will provide a holistic and clinical service, with support from GPs as required, implementing agreed management plans, and following approved protocols as appropriate. Supervision will be provided by designated GP at the practice. The role may also include clinical triage.
Responsibilities
- Undertake acute assessments of patients within their own homes, making clinical judgments as to their further treatment.
- Prescribe medications to patients in line with local PSD.
- Empower patients to take responsibility for managing their own care and treatment where it is safe and appropriate to do so.
- Ensure complete and accurate documentation of every patient contact, including advice given. Records must be accurate and reflect the clinical activity in accordance with professional guidelines on clinical record keeping.
- Complete all referral processes and liaise with outside agencies regarding these referrals as needed.
- Provide regular support and feedback to the practice on patients at risk of being admitted to hospital.

Qualifications
- Educated to Paramedic Science/Practice or a Paramedic Degree Apprenticeship

- Good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- Specialism in Respiratory or Diabetes
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience of working with healthcare professionals and or previous experience in the NHS
- Previously working in a GP surgery
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD): Up-to-date CPD portfolio relevant to scope of practice
