We have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Technician to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Loughborough College.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible Health & Safety Technician to join our small but dedicated team committed to creating a safe and supportive working and learning environment.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-orientated technician to support the implementation and monitoring of Health & Safety procedures and compliance across the Group and to support the on-call first aid team.

Responsibilities of this role

  • Conduct a variety of risk assessments (including workstation, personal support, maternity) and recommend appropriate adjustments to managers.
  • Provide Health & Safety support across all sites, contributing to compliance testing, audits, and continuous improvement of safe working practices.
  • Support the review and approval of student trips, subcontractor risk assessments, and College events to ensure safety standards are met.
  • Contribute to the delivery and management of the College’s corporate eye care scheme.
  • What we are looking for
  • Experience or strong interest in Health & Safety, with the ability to carry out risk assessments and provide clear, practical recommendations.
  • Knowledge of compliance processes, audits, and safe-working practices, with a proactive approach to maintaining high standards.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to support multiple sites and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Confidence in interpreting and applying H&S guidance, including COSHH, incident response, and evacuation procedures.
  • Open to and able to commute to other campuses as and when it is required.
