Your Job

The Manager, Events & Run Communications UK & IE will be responsible for planning and ensuring the activation of defined brand led Marketing activations. Your role will be focussed on reaching and engaging with runners both digitally and physically with a focus on increasing brand awareness and driving brand consideration. You will support the Marketing Manager UK/IE in leading the seasonal planning and in season activations across Events, Social, Influencers, Partnerships, Run Communities and Athletes to deliver an integrated approach in the market. You will manage the Events and Communities Co-Ordinator and Social and Digital Co-Ordinator to ensure seamless execution of marketing activations and department deliverables.

Your Responsibilities

  • Plan, budget and manage all events across all Marketing channels in the UK & Ireland including parkrun events, retail events, PR and influencer events.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders (Territory Director, Marketing Manager, Retail Marketing) to plan and deliver world class events which strengthen Brooks relationships with Media, Retailers, Influencers & beyond.
  • Manage the Events and Communities Coordinator and the Social and Digital Coordinator, supporting their successful execution of responsibilities and professional growth and development.
  • Ensure events across all functions are consistent in look and feel.
  • Liaise with Tech Rep Manager to consistently gather feedback on events to ensure we’re maximising our outputs.
  • Manage the relationship with partners such as parkrun, Great Run, Run Through & Cambridge United ensuring calendars, communications & events are planned and implemented in-line with Brooks marketing strategy.
  • Manage in-season budgets for all events, Influencers, and partner activations including parkrun, Great Run, Run Through & Cambridge United.
  • Work with EMEA Marketing Team and Marketing Manager to build a Social Media calendar aligned to key campaign launches to be activated by Social and Digital Co-Ordinator.
  • Create a digital video content calendar aligned with key seasonal launches key brand storytelling with local agencies.
  • Manage budgets and ensure prompt timelines for release of content.
  • Lead local Influencer plans and Paid Influencers.
  • Ensure the content aligns with key product launches and content is shared across social partners within agreed time frames.
  • Lead local Run Communities plans with social, event and activation plans.
  • Managing your team including leading the Sprint process for your direct reports.
  • Create comms plan and ensure activation of plans for Brooks athletes across social and partners.
  • Support Events and Communities Coordinator and Social and Digital Co-Ordinator to produce quarterly reports.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in business/marketing)
  • 5+ years of relevant business experience (brand, footwear, retail & lifestyle experience)
  • 2+ years of management experience preferred including hiring, effectively directing work, coaching and development.
  • Strong understanding of brand building and integrated marketing approach
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of marketing channels and brands
  • Readiness to travel and attend meetings and offerings with customers as well as events.
  • Proficiency of following software: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Strong passion for the running enthusiast and practicing an active lifestyle.
  • Able to generate new ideas and creative solutions.
  • Driven & energetic, trend-conscious, sport-savvy.
  • Flexibility to work on own initiative or within team and cross-functional framework.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task and manage concurrent workflows to deadlines, strong attention to details.
