Your Job:

The Key Account Manager is responsible for the sales revenue and margin of national key accounts across athletic specialty, general sporting goods, internet and other channels of distribution. You will establish sales goals, strategies, and budgets relative to these accounts to assure goal achievement through direct contact with buyers, merchandisers and the Brooks sales reps for each account. You will work closely with the Senior Key Account Manager and the UK Sales and Marketing Managers to ensure that the Key Account strategy is aligned with the overall EMEA strategy. This role requires extensive travel to all required meetings and trade shows in an effort to achieve sales goals.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implements seasonal sales forecasts, product sales plans and annual revenue goals for each assigned key account.
  • Identify business opportunities within your accounts and partner with the Sr Key Account Manager and Sales Manager on the development of sales programs that drive sell thru at retail.
  • Own the communication and execution of sales programs that position Brooks as the leader in performance running.
  • Report to, and support, the Sr Key Account Manager and Sales Manager on ensuring Key Account revenue growth.
  • Continually manage account P&L to ensure key account profitability.
  • Lead all seasonal sell in presentations for your accounts to ensure backlog growth and increase market share at all key accounts.
  • Take an active role in retail promotions at all National Accounts. Work closely with National Account Marketing Manager to develop seasonal marketing programs.
  • Participate in planning and execution of product education events in conjunction with Sales management and marketing.
  • Work with Senior Key Account Manager to develop sell-through initiatives to be briefed to, and delivered by, the Tech Team.
  • Develop and maintain good customer rapport and a positive image.
  • Partner with Product Management and Marketing on product issues, improvements on existing products, new product requirements and competitive information.
  • Conduct regular meetings with key accounts to analyze plan performance to identify opportunities or maximize performance.
  • Maintains current awareness of competitors, competitive product lines and programs.
  • Completes, and submits, on a timely basis expense reports, business activity of each assigned account and key account strategy development.
  • Assist Senior Key Account Manager & UK Sales Manager on all key account business and special projects.

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Management, Marketing or related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in sales management and/or key account management required preferably within the sporting goods industry.
  • Retail Sales Experience of 2 years preferred.
  • Strategic account management experience preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of computers and ability to work with programs such as Excel, Power Point and Word.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in particular as it relates to understanding and identifying customer needs.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust resulting in effective working relationships across the company.
  • Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks, while still maintaining the larger, strategic direction.
  • Ability to anticipate how decisions can impact our customers as well as all other external and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstration of innovation and initiative – always looking at improving our products and processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help out wherever necessary.
