Role Overview
To provide day‑to‑day portfolio implementation and trading support to the Investment Products and Services that sit under the oversight of the CIO & Research team, reporting to the Director of Central Implementation who oversees this process.
Responsibilities
- Provide implementation support to the Managed Portfolio Service (MPS), MPS on Platform, AIM Service, Risk Managed & Blueprint Funds and the BPS Investment Teams regarding bulk trading.
- Provide active support to investment managers focusing on implementing investment decisions across strategies in a timely manner.
- Model investment views across a range of portfolios and portfolio types including Brooks Macdonald’s custody, third‑party platforms and funds.
- Oversight of cash flows, monitoring asset allocations and ensuring portfolios are managed within appropriate internal and regulatory parameters.
- Participate and actively engage in your performance management process to attain and maintain competence within your role.
- Comply with applicable rules and regulations as stated by the regulator and set out in our internal policies.
- Work within the Central Implementation team to develop 'best practice' as the role develops.
- Under guidance of senior team members, document, update and review working processes and approach.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Some experience within portfolio management (Implementation, Fund Manager Assistant, Investment Desk Assistant) preferable; experience in transitions, trade support or trade operations would also be considered.
- An understanding of the trade lifecycle, especially with direct equity, bonds and mutual fund settlements.
- An understanding of portfolio cash management to avoid overdrafts.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, as the role will entail liaising between front and back‑office staff.
- Prior experience of portfolio implementation within an investment business.
- Good working with numbers and percentages.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience working within investment management.
