Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and promoting BM’s investment solutions, including bespoke, MPS and funds to UK Intermediaries. The role will primarily be focused on developing the delivery of Brooks Macdonald’s product offerings in central London, developing existing relationships and establishing professional relationships with new adviser contacts. The individual will bring together the various investment and market insights from our Centralised Investment Proposition to secure new business and will develop a deep knowledge of BMs investment solutions and fund business.
Role Responsibilities
- Contribute to new business sales and retention of assets
- Identify and develop new business opportunities and work with Investment Managers to execute growth within the region
- Actively promote the products of BM to relevant intermediary businesses via face-to-face meetings, remote meetings, phone calls and emails
- Maintain a broad knowledge of investment perspectives and technical ability to help achieve sales targets
- Leverage insights from the Multi-Asset team, the CIO group, and the broader fund management team to articulate to stakeholders a view from Brooks Macdonald regarding the global economy, capital markets and underlying asset classes
- Contribute, as appropriate, to the creation of suitable Marketing campaigns, mailings & literature
- Attend and speak at appropriate seminars/conferences and help develop the Brooks Macdonald brand and services
- Attend sales meetings and bring market intelligence to help improve and develop the offerings of BM
- Ensure that necessary CRM/management reporting updates are completed in a timely and thorough manner (Salesforce)
- Ensure core messages are disseminated efficiently, professionally and in a compliant manner to a wide audience, including understanding and sharing with intermediaries our collateral/updates in terms of Consumer Duty
- Proactively follow up event and marketing initiatives to achieve a consistently high level of activity
- Perform role always ensuring adherence to the expected behaviours stated in the FCA Conduct Rules
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Proven experience of working with UK intermediary firms with a business development focus
- Extensive and relevant sales and/or account management experience
- Demonstrable knowledge of adviser firms in the region
- Sound understanding of the regulatory requirements around investments
- Thorough knowledge of Investment Funds, preferably including Multi Asset Fund offerings
- Demonstrable understanding of financial markets and instruments
- Proven track record of exceeding targets
- Ability to engage diverse clients, investment managers and product providers
