Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Business Manager to support the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in the firm‑wide management of operational execution and operational risk. This role is critical in coordinating strategic initiatives, managing budgets and resources, and supporting governance and control frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Coordination & Tracking: Support the COO and SLT in tracking and delivering key operational initiatives and deliverables. Coordinate and produce management information reporting for the COO office. Assist in the production of committee materials and cohesive COO communications.
- Budget & Resource Management: Assist in planning and tracking budgets and resource allocation across operational teams. Provide insights and reporting to support SLT decision‑making.
- Governance & Control: Oversee the Training & Competency framework for SMCR‑covered staff. Support governance processes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Risk & Regulatory Oversight: Track and report on COO‑related risks and regulatory changes. Lead or support cross‑functional process reviews to assess and improve operational processes. Maintain a strong understanding of FCA regulations, including Operational Resilience, Consumer Duty, and the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR), T+1 Settlement and others that impact our operating model.
- Project & Change Management: Contribute to the implementation of regulatory and operational change initiatives. Collaborate with SLT and key stakeholders to ensure effective execution of projects in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong understanding of Financial Services, operational and regulatory risk.
- Familiarity with FCA regulations, including Operational Resilience, Consumer Duty, and SMCR.
- Proven experience in project management and business operations.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
