Join a respected private parkland course set across 130 acres as Deputy Head Greenkeeper. We are seeking an ambitious, career-minded deputy or senior greenkeeper to support and deputise for the Head Greenkeeper and help lead our team.
Key responsibilities:
- Deputise for the Head Greenkeeper and supervise, coach and develop the greenkeeping team.
- Plan and deliver daily and seasonal programmes (mowing, aeration, topdressing, fertiliser, pest/disease control).
- Lead in-house course development projects — past works include UK/USGA-spec green reconstructions, bunker builds, drainage and irrigation installations, and tee constructions.
- Oversee irrigation maintenance, bunker care, planting/pruning and machinery operation.
- Maintain workshop standards, pre-start checks and safe storage/recording of fuels, chemicals and consumables.
- Promote health, safety and environmental best practice across the team.
What we are looking for:
- NVQ Level 2&3 in Greenkeeping.
- Minimum 3 years' greenkeeping experience with supervisory responsibility.
- Strong practical knowledge of turf care, irrigation, bunker work and machinery maintenance.
- Commitment to H&S and environmental best practice.
- PA spraying, chainsaw and First Aid qualifications desirable.

Working Hours:
37.5 hours per week. Working hours including a 30-minute unpaid break: April to September, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm; October to March, 7:00 am – 2:30 pm. Occasionally it will be necessary to work in addition to these hours as required by the needs of the business. Any overtime will be accrued and taken as time off in lieu. Weekend overtime will be required on a rota basis, approximately every third week, with several additional shifts as required by the needs of the Club.
