Brooklyn Recruitment currently have an exciting role available in the Cannock area for a Buyer within the manufacturing sector. This role would suit someone with purchasing / buying experience within a manufacturing environment, electrical manufacturing would be ideal but isn’t essential. This company has an excellent working environment with the building being light, bright and clean. You would be joining a 6 strong (growing) procurement team as a Buyer and a total workforce of around 200, but this company still has a family friendly feel to it, where everyone is known by name and you even get your birthday off!
As a Buyer you will be:
- Establishing relationships with and negotiating with suppliers.
- Negotiating freight costs.
- Adhering to all buying procedures.
- Establishing and updating safety stock levels against demand.
- Working with LEAN manufacturing initiatives.
- Escalating any supplier quality issues with the NCR team.
- Ensuring all supplier payment terms are in line with the company standards.
- Negotiating once quotes are received to ensure the best deals.
- Rejecting / negotiating any price increases from suppliers.
- Working with suppliers to ensure they deliver on time and in full.
- Producing supplier reports and categorising them.
- Other duties as required.
The working hours for this Senior Buyer’s role are excellent: Mon – Thurs 8am – 5.15pm, Fri 8am – 12pm.
