Brooklyn Recruitment are currently working with a manufacturer/servicing company of saw blades and tooling who are looking for a Sales Manager/Business Development Manager/Sales Engineer. This company is based in the Brownhills area on the West Midlands/Staffordshire border. Although the site has a family feel to it, this company also has the backing of a larger group behind it.
As Sales Manager/Business Development Manager/Sales Engineer you will have a 70% existing customers/30% new business development split. You will be:
- Responsible for generating sales of woodworking tooling and wide bandsaws.
- Prospect potential customers to develop new business.
- Analyse customer needs and advise customers on tooling applications.
- Prepare quotations for new and custom tooling.
- Serve as company liaison with customers on all sales, accounting, shipping and other administrative matters.
- Follow up on sales orders to ensure delivery.
- Monitor competition and market conditions.
- Maintain effective communications with customers and office personnel.
- Submit activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans.
- Attend weekly sales meeting.
- Support digital marketing activities, setting and driving internet sales strategy (company website, Ebay, Amazon) as well as social media (Facebook, YouTube etc).
- Other duties as required.
To be suitable for this role of Sales Manager/Business Development Manager/Sales Engineer you should have previous sales experience gained within a manufacturing/tooling company, ideally with a service element to it. You should have excellent IT skills to include Microsoft Excel and ERP systems. Experience from a fabrication/joinery/woodworking environment is essential as you need to have an understanding of the tools.
The site hours are 8am – 5pm Mon – Fri but as with all sales roles an element of flexibility would be required. This role is office based but you would be expected to be out on the road for 3-4 days a week. Your customers will be up to around 2 hours away so quite local.
This is a great opportunity to join a stable yet expanding group where you will be the only Salesperson. There will also be future opportunities to take on additional responsibilities if you wanted to.
