Brooklands Primary School is a dynamic and forward‑thinking school, committed to high expectations and aspirations for our pupils while ensuring the wellbeing and professional fulfilment of our staff. We are seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to support high‑quality teaching and learning across the school, helping pupils to achieve strong academic, social and personal outcomes.

The role will involve working with individuals, small groups and whole classes to support learning, promote engagement and foster independence. The successful candidate will also contribute to the wider life of the school and play an important role in creating a positive, inclusive and nurturing environment for all pupils. The year group for this role has not yet been determined and will be matched to the strengths, experience and skillset of the successful candidate, alongside the needs of the school. We are therefore keen to hear from applicants with a range of experiences across the primary phase who can demonstrate flexibility, enthusiasm and a commitment to supporting all children to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a role model for the school’s values of Perseverance, Respect, Friendship and Honesty
  • Work in partnership with teachers to support high‑quality teaching and learning in the classroom
  • Deliver targeted small‑group and one‑to‑one support and interventions that help pupils make strong progress
  • Support pupils to access learning, develop independence and achieve their individual targets
  • Adapt support effectively to meet the needs of SEND, disadvantaged and EAL pupils
  • Contribute to the assessment of pupils’ learning by providing feedback to teachers on progress, understanding and engagement
  • Support positive relational behaviour for learning in line with the school’s policy and have high expectations for pupils’ learning and conduct
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues to promote pupils’ wellbeing and success
  • Demonstrate flexibility in working across different year groups and phases, responding to the needs of the school and the strengths of the successful candidate
  • Follow all safeguarding, welfare and intimate care procedures to ensure pupils’ safety and dignity
  • Engage fully in professional development opportunities and contribute positively to the wider life of the school
