Are you a creative and collaborative leader with a passion for heritage education, STEM engagement and inspiring the next generation? Brooklands Museum is looking for a Learning & Engagement Manager to lead our dynamic team in delivering high-quality, curriculum-linked learning experiences and growing our schools and community engagement programmes.
Location: Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, Surrey
Hours: Permanent, full-time - 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum
Reports to: Head of Collections & Audience Engagement
What You'll Do
- Lead, develop and evaluate all schools and formal learning programmes to meet curriculum requirements and visitor targets.
- Shape and grow the Brooklands Innovation Academy as a flagship STEM programme that inspires future innovators and changemakers.
- Oversee community, family and holiday engagement activities that make heritage accessible and engaging for diverse audiences.
- Manage, support and develop the Learning & Engagement team to deliver high-quality, inclusive experiences.
- Oversee programme budgets, setting and monitoring targets, and identifying opportunities for growth and development.
- Build strong relationships with schools, community groups and educational partners across the region.
- Champion inclusive, accessible learning that reflects the diversity of our audiences and tells the Brooklands story in dynamic, engaging ways.
- Evaluate programme impact and use insights to continuously improve learning experiences.
- Support cross-museum collaboration with Events, Marketing, Operations and Hospitality teams to deliver joined-up visitor experiences.
Who You Are
- You’ll be an experienced and passionate education professional with experience in museum, heritage or education-based learning programme development and delivery.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, with confidence engaging schools, community groups and partners.
- Proven experience in curriculum-linked programme development, particularly in STEM subjects.
- A highly organised, creative and solutions-focused approach to project and budget management.
- A commitment to delivering inclusive, accessible and high-quality learning experiences for all audiences.
- The ability to evaluate programmes and use data to inform decision-making and demonstrate impact.
