We are seeking a dedicated Receptionist to be the welcoming face of Brooklands Technical College!
About the Role:
This vital full-time role is at the heart of our college, serving as the first point of contact for all visitors, students and
staff. You will play a key role in creating a positive first impression, ensuring smooth administrative operations and providing
essential front-of-house support. Your day will be varied, from welcoming guests to managing enquiries and providing crucial
administrative assistance.
What you\’ll be doing:
* Greeting and welcoming all visitors, students and staff.
* Managing the main reception area, ensuring it is tidy and welcoming.
* Handling incoming phone calls, emails and in-person enquiries and directing these efficiently.
* Providing general information and guidance to students and parents/guardians.
* Managing mail, deliveries, post room and franking machine.
* Ensuring compliance with college safeguarding and security procedures.
What we\’re looking for:
You will need:
* Proven experience as a receptionist or in a busy front-of-house customer service role.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a clear and pleasant telephone manner.
* Strong customer service orientation and a friendly, approachable demeanour.
* Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook) and basic IT systems.
* A professional attitude and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Ideally, you will also have:
* Previous experience working in an educational setting.
* An understanding of safeguarding principles in a public-facing environment.
