Learning Support Assistant

37 hours per week. 37 weeks per year – £24,105.57 FTE (actual £20,359.93) BRK20 (happy to discuss part time options for the right candidate)

We are an established provider of good quality College and School Links courses for young people and adults with learning difficulties and emotional / behavioural difficulties. Brooklands College is committed to supporting learners with a wide range of needs including dyslexia, autism and physical and sensory needs. We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to provide support to learner/s for the duration of their course.

Responsibilities

• Support learners in class 1:1 or in small groups, working at a range of levels from entry level to L3 across all curriculum areas
• Use strategies to help students with reading, writing and maths skills
• Support students during their exams
• Keep careful records of all LSA support provided

Qualifications

• English & Maths level 2
• A relevant LSA qualification or willingness to take one – a distinct advantage
• Good IT, numeracy, oral and written communication skills
• A sound understanding of the purpose of the Additional Learning Support function
