The predicted salary is between 25000 - 30000 Β£ per year.

We are looking for a conscientious individual with working knowledge of the production/manufacturing environment to complete level 2 NDT training and become a qualified NDT operator. The role will be to work alongside UT Level 2 & 3 personnel and gain the necessary on the job training to move towards becoming a certified Ultrasonic (UT) Level 2. The role will cover manual inspections along with automated inspections over 2 systems inspecting composite components.

About Us: Brookhouse Aerospace produces a range of composite structures, producing monolithic and sandwich parts from a range of materials, including carbon fibre composite, glass and Aramid cured by autoclave. Brookhouse Aerospace also manufactures sheet metal fabrications and machined metal parts, fully supply kits and integrated assemblies. Specialist capabilities include a full range of surface treatments and dedicated Spares and Repairs capability.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Preparation of components for inspection
  • Assisting Level 2 inspectors with equipment verification checks (Weekly, Monthly, Annually)
  • Assisting Level 2 inspectors during inspections
  • Assisting Level 2 inspectors with the day to day running of the department
  • Gaining on the job experience in A-Scan and C-Scan under the direct observation of Level 2 inspectors
  • Revise and understand inspection techniques for each project
  • Assist with audit preparation

Training and examination:

  • Training involves gaining 800 hours of on the job experience using manual and automated inspections
  • A 2 week off site training course required for completion
  • 3 exams are required after all on the job and classroom training is complete, consisting of:
    • A 'General' exam covering the Ultrasonic inspection
    • A 'Specific' exam based on the customer specifications in use at Brookhouse
    • A 'Practical' exam covering the equipment used at Brookhouse
