Mental Health Support Worker (Days/Nights)

Location: Fernside House, Armley, Leeds

Hours: 38.5 hours per week

Salary: £13.45 per hour + £14.95 overtime

Shift Pattern: 07:45am - 07:45pm OR 7:45pm – 7:45am, two-week rolling rota

  • Week 1: Mon, Tue, Sat, Sun
  • Week 2: Wed, Thu, Fri

Fernside House will provide a safe and supportive home for men with enduring mental health needs, and we’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to person‑centred, recovery‑focused care.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals on their journey to recovery through person‑centred care in a residential setting.
  • Help residents develop independent living skills and achieve personal goals.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to build positive relationships with residents.
  • Provide emotional and practical support to residents.
  • Promote engagement in meaningful activities and encourage social inclusion.
  • Assist with daily living tasks and support residents in accessing education, employment, and the community.
  • Promote independence and self‑confidence, helping residents regain control over their lives.

Experience Required

  • Experience within a Mental Health or Residential setting
  • Can build rapport with ease with not only the residents but the wider team
  • Understanding the importance of offering person‑centered quality care
