Are you a committed RMN with a passion for clinical leadership and delivering high-quality care? Active Pathways is looking for an experienced and motivated Nursing Team Manager to lead the clinical team at Brookhaven, our specialist residential mental health service with nursing in Preston. This is an exciting opportunity to lead from the front, influence best practice, and play a vital role in creating a positive, person-centred care culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversee high-quality nursing care
  • Lead on documentation, risk assessments, and medication management
  • Ensure effective communication across the multidisciplinary team
  • Coordinate My Reviews, CPA processes, admissions, and discharges
  • Support staff development through supervision and mentorship
  • Monitor physical health care and infection prevention standards
  • Conduct clinical audits and drive quality improvements
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards and internal governance
  • Contribute to recruitment, retention, and a positive team culture
  • Participate in the leadership on-call rota

Essential Criteria:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current NMC registration
  • Proven leadership experience in a mental health or complex care setting
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, safeguarding, and MDT working
  • Skilled in clinical supervision, coaching, and staff development
  • Confident communicator and effective problem solver

About Brookhaven: You will be based at Brookhaven, located in Bamber Bridge, which is a 23-bed, mixed-gender open rehabilitation service for adults aged 18 and over. The service supports individuals with enduring mental health needs to build confidence and skills through structured routines and meaningful community connections, including leisure, education and vocational activities.

Next door is our sister service The Hamptons, a 14-bed purpose-built inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Preston, Lancashire. The Hamptons provides a step-down service for men transitioning from secure or PICU environments. The team adopts a recovery model approach to support individuals with complex mental health conditions, offering longer-term treatment and structured support within a controlled setting.
