Brookhaven School is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support SEND pupils.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under the instruction and guidance of teaching staff to undertake work, care, and support programmes.
- Enable pupils to access learning and assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
- Promote a positive ethos and act as a role model for positive attributes.
- Work effectively within a team environment, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities.
- Use good interpersonal, numeracy and literacy skills in day-to-day practice.
- Apply safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare and safety of children.
Qualifications
- NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistant (or recognised equivalent qualification or experience).
- Experience of working with children with SEND.
- Team working skills and understanding of classroom roles.
- Strong interpersonal, numeracy and literacy skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
Salary & Working Hours
- Salary: Grade 4 SCP 13‑16 £25,186–£25,989 (Pay Award Pending). Actual salary £20,766–£21,428.
- Working hours: 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 days INSET.
- Contract Permanent. Start date: ASAP.
