Role Overview: Be responsible for all manners of financial reporting, and the preparation of Europe's consolidated results. Uphold the basic fundamentals of providing timely, accurate and relevant financial information to internal stakeholders. Become a key finance team member who is integrally involved in all aspects of the group's reporting, and, being well positioned to manage and coordinate ad hoc projects for the team as they arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Key customers are Brookfield Asset Manager and Brookfield Corporation groups in Toronto and the London based Finance team.
- Consolidating month end results for the multiâentity, multiâcurrency groups, posting consolidation journals, and analysing results.
- Lead preparation of the quarterly reporting packs for Europe's consolidations and submissions of management and supplementary financial information to Toronto.
- Become a main point of contact for Brookfield colleagues worldwide for queries regarding Europe's group reporting information.
- Lead the Intraâgroup relationship, maintaining and reconciling all intercompany loans and cashflows. Investigate and clear imbalances on a timely basis.
- Lead the preparation and consolidation of groupâwide business plans and quarterly forecasts, ensuring alignment across subsidiaries, accuracy of financial projections, and clear communication of key assumptions and performance drivers to senior stakeholders.
- Assist with the accounting for acquisitions and restructures within the group. Where required, establish opening balance sheets, and ensure postârestructure integration and consistency across the group.
- Provide regular monthly and quarterly Management reporting to various internal stakeholders and on an ad hoc as required.
- Establish strong working relationships with the London based Corporate Executives including tax, legal and compliance teams, and other Brookfield businesses.
- Management, coordination and key team member for ad hoc projects and initiatives as well as systems upgrades for the London office and other European offices where appropriate.
- Commercial & technical support to the shared service department heads and managing their input to Finance.
- Identification of process gaps and implementation of improvements to streamline processes and create consistencies across regions.
- Provide guidance to other team members, assisting with queries and helping to create best practice mentality.
Technical Skills:
- ACA/ACCA Qualified (3 â 5 years PQE).
- Previous experience in a group reporting function in industry and commerce, rather than financial services, preparing multiâcurrency group consolidations.
- Must be hands on self starter willing to roll their sleeves up.
- Highly competent in technical accounting (IFRS) and the ability to make determinations on such matters.
- FCA regulatory reporting and management of capital/liquidity resources desirable but not necessary.
- Keen eye for detail, deadline oriented, good time management and organisational skills.
- Selfâmotivated with the ability to work independently and a positive approach to problem solving.
- Excellent communicator, building meaningful relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.
