Job Description

The Diligence Management team is responsible for managing the end-to-end fund due diligence process for Brookfield’s various private funds. The team oversees all aspects of the fund due diligence process, from fund launch and initial client interest through IC approval. The Associate serves a critical function within the team by partnering with Client Relationship Managers, Fundraise Management, Investor Relations, Marketing, Product Development, Legal, Compliance, Tax, and other stakeholders to deliver a best-in-class diligence experience for prospective investors and drive client conversions for Brookfield’s open-ended core infrastructure fund.

The Associate is expected to manage all aspects of the due diligence process, partnering directly with prospective investors, CRMs, and other stakeholders. This includes creating initial diligence materials and deliverables during fundraising, including RFPs, DDQs, and other materials, as well as coordinating client calls, meetings, asset tours, and on-site meetings to advance investor due diligence processes. Over time, the Associate is expected to develop significant expertise in the firm’s infrastructure product offerings and serve as a client-facing contact, working directly with investors to guide them through the due diligence process.

The role’s responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing the due diligence deliverables required to advance clients during fundraising, including DDQs, RFPs, RFIs, quantitative datasets, IDD/ODD presentations, and related materials
  • Completing the quarterly suite of deliverables for consultants and providing regular data and content updates to consultant databases
  • Working closely with stakeholders, especially the Investor Relations team and investment professionals, to respond to investor diligence requests and provide nuanced technical materials that advance the fund diligence process
  • Planning and overseeing interactions between prospective investors and investment teams or other subject matter experts, including Tax, Legal, Operations, and other teams, as part of the fund due diligence process
  • Creating initial due diligence materials prior to fund launch, including standard DDQs, investor presentations, PPMs, case studies, quantitative datasets, and related materials
  • Building a thorough understanding of the firm’s infrastructure products, investment strategies, portfolio, corporate structure, history, and operations to facilitate the accurate and consistent creation of diligence content
  • Navigating and effectively utilizing the firm’s suite of tools and resources to respond to client requests
  • Demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work directly with clients, CRMs, senior investment professionals, and other team members under tight deadlines and across jurisdictions
  • Managing other client-facing materials and channels related to fund due diligence

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business management, marketing, communications or other relevant discipline

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 4+ years of experience in private fund marketing, due diligence, client services or other fundraising or client function. Experience in core-infrastructure is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with investment products and services, including a strong understanding of the infrastructure asset class
  • Strong project management skills, with experience in managing timelines, resources, and stakeholders across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in high volume processes and technology enabled solutions

KEY COMPETENCIES/BEHAVIOURS REQUIRED:

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English
  • High attention to detail in written materials and quantitative data
  • Strong understanding of due diligence processes, with project management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Must work well in a team environment, excellent interpersonal skills to engage senior professionals and liaise with global teams across the firm
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and own professional development
