Brookfield veterinary practice, Hereford has a fantastic opportunity for a Student Veterinary Nurse to join our passionate and dedicated team.

Brookfield is a well-established small animal practice that has been running for over 50 years. We are extremely proud to be independent and have continued to grow and evolve over the years. We take pride in delivering high standard customer care to our clients and their patients.

Brookfield has a loyal client base and offers a variety of interesting cases, providing a great learning environment for a student nurse. You\’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative team of 10 vets (both full- and part-time), 15 RVNs, student nurses, and an invaluable front-of-house team who help keep the practice running smoothly.

Skills that you will learn and be expected to carry out to the highest standard include animal handling and husbandry, reception tasks, maintaining cleanliness and caring for inpatients. Further on in your training you will be able to carry out general anaesthetics, administer medications, perform radiographs, take blood samples and place intravenous catheters.

This is a full-time position, the shifts range between 7.30am and 8pm Monday-Friday with a share of the weekend and on-call rota. The position includes attending Abbeydale vet nurse training college one day a week, to complete the Level 3 Diploma in veterinary nursing where you will be expected to complete assignments, sit written and practical examinations and complete the Central Skills Log (CSL).

In order to enrol onto the Level 3 Diploma in veterinary nursing you should have a minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent), at grade 4-9 or C and above. They must include:

· Mathematics

· A science subject (biology, chemistry or physics)
