We are seeking a passionate and skilled Music Specialist to deliver high-quality, engaging weekly music lessons across the primary age range. The successful candidate will inspire a love of music, nurture talent, and ensure that all children—regardless of background or ability—can participate, enjoy, and succeed in music.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, inclusive weekly music lessons for all year groups.
  • Develop a progressive music curriculum that builds skills, knowledge, and confidence over time.
  • Teach a range of musical disciplines, including singing, instrumental work, composition, and appreciation.
  • Create opportunities for performance, such as assemblies, concerts, and school events.
  • Identify and support pupils with particular musical talents, as well as those who may need additional encouragement.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers and senior leaders to enrich the wider curriculum through music.
  • Contribute to the school’s ethos by promoting creativity, wellbeing, and cultural awareness.
  • Maintain an engaging and stimulating learning environment where all children feel valued and supported.

Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher status or relevant music teaching qualification/experience.
  • Strong subject knowledge in music and the ability to teach across the primary age range.
  • Experience of planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate children of all abilities.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to the values of inclusion, encouragement, and pupil wellbeing.

Salary and Working Hours

Salary from M1 to UPS Considered. Music Teacher – 3-4 days per week. Starting in September 2026.
