Brookfield Primary School is seeking a committed and skilled SENCo to lead and coordinate provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities across our two-form entry school, including our two nursery settings. Working closely with the Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion and Behaviour, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality, inclusive practice across the school. You will support staff to deliver effective adaptive teaching, oversee SEND provision, and work in partnership with families and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for all pupils.

Responsibilities- Lead the development, implementation and review of the school's SEND policy and provision
- Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice (2015)
- Maintain and regularly review the SEND register
- Monitor the quality of provision and outcomes for pupils with SEND across the school
- Contribute to the school's self‐evaluation and improvement planning in relation to SEND quality of education & inclusion
- Promote high‐quality teaching (Quality First Teaching) as the primary approach to meeting SEND needs
- Support teachers to:
- Adapt teaching and resources effectively
- Use appropriate scaffolds and interventions
- Address misconceptions
- Work with the Assistant Head to ensure alignment between SEND provision and behaviour systems
- Monitor the effectiveness of interventions and ensure they are evidence‐based and impactful
- Oversee SEND provision across both nursery settings and Reception
- Ensure early identification and intervention for pupils with additional needs
- Liaise with external professionals and families to support children with complex needs
- Track progress of pupils with SEND across the school
- Analyse data to identify trends, gaps and priorities
- Ensure clear provision mapping and evaluation of impact
- Prepare reports for SLT and governors on SEND provision and outcomes
- Provide guidance and support to teachers and support staff
- Lead CPD on SEND, inclusion and adaptive teaching
- Support staff in implementing consistent approaches across the school
- Contribute to performance management where appropriate
- National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete)
- Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
- Experience of working with pupils with a range of SEND needs
- Ability to lead, influence and support staff effectively
- Strong organisational and communication skills
