M&E Quantity Surveyor in Romford

We are currenlty looking for a M&E Quantity Surveyor for a M&E sub Contractor based in Romford, We are looking for the M&E Quantity Surveyor to support the Senior Commercial Manager in the effective commercial and cost management of multiple Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) subcontract projects. The role provides structured, hands-on experience in procurement, cost control, valuations, and commercial administration within an MEP contracting environment, supporting the development of core quantity surveying and commercial management skills. M&E Quantity Surveyor Duties * Comply with and actively promote the Company’s Health & Safety policies at all times. * Ensure compliance with all company procedures, systems, and protocols. * Assist in the procurement and commercial evaluation of subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants, including supply-only and labour-only packages. * Support the preparation of subcontract documentation and attend Part 2 meetings where appropriate. * Assist in preparation of Bills of Quantities, schedules, and tender comparison documents * Assist with the measurement and take-off of M&E services in accordance with drawings and specifications. * Support measurement activities for interim valuations, variations, and final accounts. * Assist in the preparation and maintenance of Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs). * Support the identification, recording, and commercial assessment of changes for both subcontractors and clients. * Assist in the assessment and evaluation of payments to Sub-Contractors, Consultants, and Suppliers. * Support the preparation and coordination of labour-only payments. * Subject to prior approval and in accordance with company procedures, assist with the authorisation of interim payments to Sub-Contractors and Consultants. * Assist in drafting commercial correspondence for review and issue by the Senior Commercial Manager. * Maintain accurate and up-to-date commercial records in line with company procedures * Liaise and integrate with site teams to support effective project delivery. * Attend design, procurement, commercial, and site meetings as required. * Take accurate meeting minutes when appropriate. * Support general commercial administration across multiple projects. The ideal canaidate will have * Minimum 1 year experience in construction or M&E contracting (desirable) * Strong numerical and analytical skills * Good understanding of Microsoft Excel * Clear written and verbal communication skills * Ability to work well within a team * Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines * Basic understanding of M&E installations (mechanical/ electrical) * Willingness to learn and develop within an M&E commercial environment Hours/ Package * Office-based with regular site visits * Full-time, Monday to Thursday 8am -5pm Friday 8am – 4:30pm * £55k - £65k + Package Please apply or contact Brookfield M&E to discuss in more detial
