Mechanical Contracts Manager required. Brookfield M&E are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager for a large M&E fit-out contractor.

Following a review of the company's team structure and leadership capability, the business is strengthening its operational delivery team with an individual who has a strong implementation and accountability focus.

The existing team has good capability across planning, stakeholder management, client relationships, risk identification and team development.

The company is now looking for someone who naturally drives execution, closes out actions, maintains programme momentum and ensures accountability throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple MEP projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
  • Lead Mechanical Project Managers, Site Managers, engineers and subcontractors.
  • Drive project programmes and ensure agreed actions and deadlines are achieved.
  • Establish clear ownership of deliverables and hold project teams and subcontractors accountable.
  • Maintain strong project controls, reporting and change-management procedures.
  • Identify and elevate risks, delays and commercial issues before they affect delivery.
  • Review drawings, specifications, tender information and contract requirements.
  • Manage procurement schedules, subcontract packages, plant, materials and labour resources.
  • Monitor budgets, cost reports, applications, variations, forecasts and final accounts.
  • Lead client, consultant, design, commercial and progress meetings.
  • Coordinate mechanical services with electrical, architectural and structural teams.
  • Oversee quality assurance, testing, commissioning, snagging and defect close-out.
  • Ensure O&M manuals, as-built information and handover documentation are completed.
  • Maintain compliance with CDM Regulations, health and safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, principal contractors and the supply chain.

  • Proven ability to drive programmes and maintain momentum.

  • Commercially aware, with experience identifying and managing change.
  • Experience delivering MEP or mechanical building-services projects from pre-construction through to handover.
  • Strong commercial fit-out or refurbishment experience.
  • Confident working with clients, consultants, subcontractors and site teams.
