About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team and ensure the smooth delivery of building services across our contract portfolio. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a background in hard services/facilities management, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the on-site engineering team
  • Ensure all planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely and on time
  • Deliver high standards of service and maintain strong client relationships
  • Monitor contract performance, KPIs, SLAs, and budgets
  • Produce monthly performance reports
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and statutory regulations
  • Manage subcontractors and review performance regularly
  • Support recruitment, training, development, and appraisals of staff
  • Identify and manage additional works opportunities
  • Attend client meetings and present operational and financial updates
  • Promote a positive team culture and continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in an Engineering Manager, Contract Manager, or Senior Supervisor role
  • Strong knowledge of building services and hard facilities management
  • Understanding of health & safety legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing teams, budgets, and subcontractors
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Computer literate and comfortable producing reports and presentations

Desirable

  • Degree or HND qualification in a relevant field
  • Experience delivering wider facilities management services
  • Experience with training, appraisals, and succession planning
