Team Overview
The Communications team manages Brookfield’s brand and reputation globally, stewards relationships with media, clients, shareholders, policy makers and the public, and ensures our people remain informed about evolving strategies. The team creates and manages content across all channels.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Communications Generalist at Manager level to join our global Communications team in London. This role focuses on media relations, content development and project management, supporting the evolution of how we communicate with stakeholders across channels and markets. The successful candidate will help scale and execute Brookfield’s content and communications strategy across Europe, supporting storytelling across earned, owned and internal platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Content & Project Management (~70%)
- Content & Editorial: Draft and edit high‑quality content across formats – transaction announcements, executive communications, opinion pieces, internal memos, social media and digital content.
- Support development of owned content across channels (website, intranet, social, video, newsletters).
- Identify opportunities to promote Brookfield’s brand, investments and thought leadership.
- Ensure all content aligns with Brookfield’s tone of voice, brand standards and strategic priorities.
- Provide writing and editorial support to senior stakeholders and business teams.
- Plan and execute communications and content initiatives across Europe, managing timelines, approvals and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects.
- Coordinate cross‑functional workflows involving internal teams and external partners/agencies.
- Help establish and evolve content development processes and best practices across the European Communications function, aligned with global standards.
- Support development of multimedia content (including video) with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment and consistency across global communications efforts.
- Media Relations (~30%)
- Support proactive and reactive media engagement across the European business.
- Respond to media inquiries in a timely and professional manner, coordinating with internal stakeholders (Investor Relations, Legal, business teams).
- Draft and manage press materials – press releases, Q&A, briefing documents, talking points and media strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with key journalists and media outlets.
- Support issues and reputation management – monitoring, escalation and response coordination.
- Prepare senior executives for media engagements, including briefings and training sessions.
- Track and analyse media coverage to inform future communications strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
- 5–7 years professional experience in communications, marketing or journalism (agency or in‑house).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Experience supporting content across digital and social channels.
- Organised and reliable, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience working with or alongside media, ideally in financial services or related sectors.
- Collaborative and comfortable working across teams and geographies.
- Experience with project management, social advocacy and video editing tools is beneficial.
- Good judgement and a proactive, hands‑on approach.
