Job Description

The Client Associate Function sits within the Global Client Group and supports the Client Relationship Managers (CRM) and Client Service Relationship Managers (CSR). Specifically, the incumbent will support the fundraising and client servicing efforts for institutional investors based in Germany, Austria & Central Eastern Europe (DACEE) across Real Estate, Infrastructure, Renewable Power/Transition, Private Equity, and Credit. The role will encompass all aspects of the fundraising process (marketing activities, direct client communications, research, client/prospect due diligence) as well as supporting relationships with existing investors. The role will be based in London; however, there will be an opportunity to relocate to Frankfurt after 12 months.

Job Purpose:

  • Business Development
    • Support all aspects of fund marketing activities, client prospect due diligence and onboarding processes
    • Work with CRMs to originate new client investment activity across the DACEE region
    • Coordinate dedicated DACEE client events in conjunction with the Events team
    • Coordinate and attend update/diligence meetings with investment teams (prepare pre-meeting reports and appropriate materials, coordinate any follow-up)
    • In collaboration with the diligence team, support clients through due diligence
  • Client Servicing
    • Work with CSRs to service investors including: In collaboration with CSRs and Investor relationship support clients with requests and ongoing investor queries
    • Support investors onboarding and subscription documentation processes
  • General Coordination
    • Support CRMs and CSRs with Brookfield’s internal CRM system (Salesforce), ensuring the system is up to date for internal reporting purposes and the ongoing tracking of the team’s fundraising and servicing opportunities
    • Assist with ad-hoc business development activities
    • Conduct alternative asset industry research and client-specific research to map out the DACEE market across asset classes
    • Monitor industry press for information relating to our respective prospects and competitors
    • In conjunction with Fundraise Management Teams, Diligence Teams, Events Teams and Coordinators, help coordinate road shows, conferences, and investor meetings

Qualifications Required:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Postgraduate studies in finance such as CFA, MBA, or CA/CPA advantageous

Experience & Competencies Required:

  • Relevant experience (3+ years) in the financial services industry; ideally in a client-facing role within asset management
  • Strong investment and financial analytical capabilities. Knowledge of private markets/alternative investments a bonus
  • Strong time and project management skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Experience of Salesforce ideal but not required
  • Team player with positive attitude, collaborative mindset, desire to learn and proactive approach to work
  • Ability to develop strong internal/external relationships
  • Ability to multi-task, project manage and work in a very fast-paced and team-oriented environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and creative problem-solving ability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a high level of attention to detail
  • Fluency in German and English is a requirement
