Team Leader – Children’s Residential Care Location: Erdington, Birmingham Pay: £14.38–£14.76 per hour Hours: 37.5 hours per week Working pattern: Day shifts and sleep-ins Brookes HC Recruitment is recruiting a Team Leader for a small children’s residential service in Erdington, Birmingham. The home supports three young people aged 13–16 with learning disabilities and personal care needs. This opportunity would suit an experienced residential care professional who can support colleagues and help create a safe, consistent and nurturing environment. Your role * Lead and support colleagues during shifts. * Provide person-centred care in line with individual care plans. * Support young people with personal care, daily routines and developing independence. * Encourage participation in education, hobbies and community activities. * Build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries. * Promote safeguarding, dignity, choice and wellbeing. * Maintain accurate records and ensure clear handovers. * Respond appropriately to concerns and escalate them to management. What we’re looking for * Previous experience in children’s residential care, ideally at Senior or Team Leader level. * Experience supporting young people with learning disabilities. * Confidence guiding colleagues and coordinating a shift. * Good communication, organisation and record-keeping skills. * An understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries. * A patient, reliable and compassionate approach. * Flexibility to work day shifts and sleep-ins. * Willingness to complete required training and pre-employment checks. * The right to work in the UK.
